A BEGINNER'S MIND

Favourite life lesson.

How do children approach the world that's so different from adults?

Usually as Adults how we think and act is based on our past experiences, thoughts and beliefs. Relating negative feelings with an activity like household chores, work or exercise can for example scar that activity every time we are faced with it. It becomes a routine we establish, unconsciously we can automatically respond to situations or unknowingly think certain thoughts of people. Thinking and doing things the same way we always have though can force us into constantly living in the past. It's different for young children though, they're experiencing things in life for the first time ever. Everything, even the most ordinary of events they approach with curiosity and an open mind. There's no preconceptions, no judgments or assumptions to anyone or anything.

Practicing to have a Beginners mind can allow you to see new perspectives, open new opportunities and you can innocently experience each moment, thing or person with a clean, open mind.
